The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee is proud to announce the launch of the Validation and Evaluation Repository. The goal is to compile a list of unique validations and evaluations conducted by forensic labs and universities. The repository will catalog these efforts and provide the contact information of the people responsible for the work. It is ASCLD’s hope that this listing will foster communication and reduce unnecessary repetition of validations and evaluations to benefit the forensic community. If you find a validation or evaluation that you would like more information about, simply use the contact information provided to request a copy.
In the May 2024 ANAB Heads Up Communication, they provided additional guidance about the ability to leverage another laboratory’s validation. “When another agency has performed a validation and shares the validation information other agencies can use the validation data to verify the method at their agency.”
