The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is pressing lawmakers to approve fees for laboratory services, saying the move is needed to prevent laying off 58 agents. A DNA database has been established that uses cat fur as forensic evidence.
SF police shake up crime-lab leadership
California The San Francisco Police Department ordered a shakeup at its crime lab Friday, putting sworn officers in charge and reassigning its civilian manager as investigators probe suspicions that a technician skimmed cocaine evidence. A search warrant was issued for a man based on false DNA information in a National Police Agency (NPA) database.
