General Announcements
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are enjoying the season and you are as excited as I am to ring in 2010. It’s hard to believe it has already been 3 months since our time together at the Annual ASCLD Symposium in California. In a brief quarter, we have made steady progress in both 2010 symposium planning and in our Advocacy Committee efforts to address the development of future forensic reform legislation. I look forward to updating you on those activities in a quarterly President’s message that can be located in the newsletter and on our website in early January.
Today I’m writing you with the much anticipated news that the ASCLD Board is now accepting applications for an Executive Director position.
As discussed in our last business meeting, the Executive Director position will bring us greater continuity and assist us with greater follow through on implementing ASCLD strategic plans. This position is scheduled to be filled within 30 days of the selection of a qualified candidate. A job announcement, position description and an application form (PDF) will be available on the ASCLD and ASCLD/LAB websites at www.ascld.org and www.ascld-lab.org.
The Executive Director position is a part-time position with a starting annual salary of $40,000.00. This position will be allowed to work from a personal residence and must be available to travel on occasion to carry out required job responsibilities. All travel related expenses associated with the position are covered by ASCLD.
Applications must be received by ASCLD President Beth Greene by January 29, 2010. All applications will be screened by a committee. Selected candidates will be scheduled for an interview.
Questions related to the position may be presented to ASCLD President Beth Greene or ASCLD Secretary Sid Popejoy. Please contact us at;
